Everything About: G-Dragon's PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Air Force 1 "Para-Noise"

You probably have been hearing a lot about the upcoming launch of G-Dragon's PEACEMINUSONE collaboration with Nike for the Air Force 1 "Para-Noise" sneakers. Every media outlet and sneaker blog seems to have gone crazy about it and we’re happy to see G-Dragon gaining so much attention globally. But there are still a lot of things that need to be talked about. What are the differences between the 3 versions of the shoes? How will it look like after the black top wears off? Where can I buy it? Who got the Friends & Family edition?

The Para-Noise white Swoosh shoes have been popping up all over the internet. Their official launch is 23 November 2019 at 10:00 am (GMT) on the Nike website, in select Nike stores and official resellers.
The shoes have a unique upper fabrication that features a black painted overlay designed to slowly wear over time to reveal an artwork created by G-DRAGON himself. Clean white signature Nike Swoosh branding on the laterals and PEACEMINUSONE’s daisy motif are placed on the tongue to add contrast to the entire look. Strokes of black paint were added on the sole units and on the bottom of the shoe. They also come with two pairs of removable custom pins for the upper eyelets.
It wouldn’t be a real hyped up pair of sneakers if it wasn’t available on resell websites. Even though it hasn’t officially been released yet, some mysterious pairs have been up for sale on stock X since November 7th. There have been already over 200 pairs sold on the website with an average price so far over $700 (£550).

A week after the first announcement, a Korea-exclusive version with a red Swoosh was unveiled. The sneaker comes with an “ARTIST” hang-tag that lists the project title, as well as G-Dragon’s stage and birth name. Only 818 pairs were available at the price of ₩219,000 (approximately $190) and was available to purchase through an offline raffle at the Nike SNKRS store in Hongdae. On the 8th of November from 11am to 9pm, only 8,888 tickets were distributed for the “Shock Draw” raffle. However, there were several rules for entering the raffle. Those who wanted to enter the raffle had to wear a Nike top along with any pair of Air Force 1.
If you weren’t one of the lucky 818 who got their hands on the Korea-exclusive red Swoosh pair, you can still get them if you are willing to pay at least $4000. Apparently not everybody who bought the pair wants to keep it and so a lot of the red Swoosh shoes have been showing up on the resell website Grailed. There are quite a few sizes from US 6 to US 10.5 with the price ranging from $5500 to $4000.

A very limited-edition version of only 88 pairs with a yellow Swoosh has been specially designed by G-Dragon for his closest family and friends. It comes with a “STAFF” hang-tag and a very uniquely designed box filled with plastic daisies.
G-Dragon gifted this pair to his sister and brother in law, his Big Bang band mates, his +82 crew friends and some close artists friends of his. Some of those artists are the world renown Takashi Murakami and Kaws.

The list of celebrities and fashion industry people that received either the Global or Red Swoosh version is longer that you can imagine as every day a new photo gets uploaded to social media with yet a new person wearing the shoes. However, we tried to track down everybody that made it on to G-Dragon’s exclusive list and received the limited edition “Friends & Family” pair of “Para Noise” shoes. How will the “para-noise” shoes look after the black top layer of paint wears off?
After the special black paint coating that wears off and starts chipping away, it will reveal a personal artwork created by G-Dragon. The hidden artwork is inspired by G-Dragon’s sense of optimism towards art as a form of self-expression for youth around the world to be unified through collective creativity.
Therefore, since none of us can wait and see what that artwork looks like, Sneakers Culture BR answered the question that was on everybody’s lips. What is under that black paint? A street-style graffiti inspired artwork! It reminds you of that one wall that all the graffiti artists in the city came by and leave a tag on, that the city council tried to wash off and paint over but artists come back every time and the tags are back on the next week.
