Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2025-01-01

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Zutter SkinAI website and app (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who operates this Service

Zutter SkinAI is a personal project operated by an individual based in the European Union. References to "we", "us" or "our" in these Terms refer to the operator of the Zutter SkinAI Service.

2. Description of the Service

Zutter SkinAI is an experimental, AI-assisted tool designed to help users explore skincare routines and product ideas. The Service may:

  • Ask questions about your skin type, concerns, and preferences.
  • Suggest possible skincare routines or products.
  • Allow you to save routines and favorite products to your profile.

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute professional medical advice.

3. Accounts and authentication

To access certain features (such as saving routines or favorites), you may need to create an account or log in using a third-party authentication provider (Auth0).

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You may delete your profile at any time using the account/delete option available in the app (this removes your stored profile and routine data from the Service’s database, subject to technical backups).
4. Data we store and how it is used

When you use the Service, we may store the following categories of data:

  • Account data: login identifier from Auth0, email address, display name, profile picture.
  • Profile data: country, age range, skin type, skin concerns, brand and ingredient preferences.
  • Routine & product data: skincare routines generated or saved, steps and order, links to products and favorites.
  • Technical data: basic logs and usage data needed to operate and secure the Service.

This data is used to operate the Service, personalise your experience, and maintain your saved routines and favorites.

For full details on how your data is collected, used, and protected, please refer to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

5. AI-generated content and disclaimer

Parts of the Service (including routine explanations and product suggestions) are generated automatically using artificial intelligence (AI). AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your specific situation.

The Service includes a visible disclaimer near recommendation results, reminding you that:

  • The content is for educational and informational purposes only.
  • It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • You should consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare provider before starting any new skincare routine or using new products, especially if you have sensitive skin, allergies, or ongoing conditions.

By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for how you use any suggestions or information provided by Zutter SkinAI.

6. No medical or professional advice

The Service does not provide medical, dermatological, or professional healthcare advice. Nothing on the Service should be interpreted as:

  • A diagnosis of any skin condition;
  • A guarantee that any product or routine is safe or effective for you;
  • A replacement for consultation with a qualified healthcare provider.

If you have any skin concerns, health conditions, or questions about products, you should seek professional advice.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or excessively harvest data from the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to generate spam, harassment, or harmful content.
8. Intellectual property

The design, layout, branding (including "Zutter" and "SkinAI"), text, and code of the Service are protected by intellectual property rights. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior permission, except where allowed by law.

You retain any rights you have in content you provide (such as free-form text), but by using the Service you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and process that content as necessary to operate and improve the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, for example:

  • Auth0 for authentication and login.
  • Cloud hosting and database providers for storage and operation.
  • AI and other infrastructure providers used internally to generate content.

These providers may process your data on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy and security practices. More information is available in the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and changes to the Service

The Service is provided on an experimental, "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free from errors. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also delete your profile using the options available in the app.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or used the Service in a harmful or unlawful way.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Reporting a problem

If you encounter an issue with the Service, please let us know. You can report a problem by emailing:
